For week 3 of Your Mind Matters we are exploring how we can cultivate an increased baseline level of happiness and positivity. Research shows that being happier improves every aspect of your life—your physical health, mental health, relationships, career success, and even your financial well-being. When you’re a happier person, you make the other important people in your life happier too. Happiness is contagious, Science suggests that positive thinking is indeed a learnable skill. Researchers believe you may be able to choose behaviors and activities that can influence as much as 40 percent of your sense of well-being and happiness. Humans are hardwired to pay attention to negative experiences far more than positive information. As such, many people are unaware of what influences the happiness in their life from one day to the next. Happiness is something you need to cultivate daily—and there are a number of actions you can take, big and small, to find your happy.
