Self-care means deliberately taking the time to do things that help you feel restored and improve your wellbeing. Self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. Self-care can help you address a wide variety of health-related needs, such as improving your eating habits, achieving and/or maintaining a healthy weight, managing stress, increasing productivity, and reducing costs associated with healthcare. By taking good care of yourself, you can dramatically improve the quality of your life. Self-care is a tool that can help prevent costly chronic health conditions—and it can also keep existing medical conditions from getting worse. This week we will explore your personal definition of self-care, what you hope to achieve by focusing on your self-care, gaps in your personal self-care and then create, adjust and optimize your plan.
