Ways to increase your daily steps:
Create a goal for yourself. Something achievable that will still push you. ie. I plan to walk at least 5000 steps every day and 8,000 2x weekly.
Plan a walking break! or two or three.... Set appointments in your calendar or an alarm on your phone as a reminder.
Find a buddy ! Having one or more friends to walk with makes you 25% more likely to do it.
Take a hike! If you live in the Akron area the spring spree begins May 1.
Stand or pace while talking on the phone rather than sitting.
Join an online exercise class. - Leslie Sandsone has great "walking" workouts on YouTube. My gym-https://tremontathletic.com/ is also posting free zoom workout classes.
Park as far away as possible when you get to work or the store. Your car will have less dings and you will have more steppies!
Always take the stairs .
Walk your dog ! or cat.. or rabbit. Or get a dog or cat or rabbit so that you have to walk them.🤷♀️
Don't forget you can convert other forms of exercise such as riding a bike into steps. (see attached chart).
